【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesmethodsforsamplingwearparticlesgeneratedbyjointreplacementimplantsinhumansandinjointsimulators.Itspecifiestheapparatus,reagentsandtestmethodstoisolateandcharacterizebothpolymerandmetalwearparticlesfromsamplesoftissuesexcisedfromaroundthejointreplacementimplant,obtainedatrevisionsurgeryorpostmortem,andfromsamplesofjointsimulatortestfluids.Someoftheseprocedurescouldcertainlybeadaptedforisolationandcharacterizationofparticlesfromhumanbiologicalfluids(e.g.synovialfluid).ThemethodsgiveninthisInternationalStandarddonotquantifythelevelofweartheimplantproduces;neitherdotheydeterminetheamountofwearfromanyparticularsurface.ThisInternationalStandarddoesnotcoverthebiologicaleffectsofwearparticlesorprovideamethodforevaluationofbiologicalsafety.
